Ruby Pigeon Blood Red 1.05ct

"Pigeon's blood" – no other term in gemology carries more weight. It is the highest color distinction a ruby can receive: a deep, vivid red with a whisper of blue that seems to glow from within in light. The AIG has assigned exactly this grade. Not every ruby comes close.

1.05 carats, oval faceted. At 7.44 × 5.29 mm, the stone has a generous face-up surface for its weight – it reads larger to the eye than the number on paper suggests. The oval cut is a classic choice for rubies: it often follows the natural crystal form and draws the maximum color from the rough.

Moderate inclusions are present – in an untreated ruby of this color depth, that is not a flaw but part of the story. Rubies entirely free of inclusions simply do not exist in nature. What matters is what the stone delivers despite them – and this one delivers a great deal. Untreated, AIG certified, in the most prized ruby color there is.
