Blue Sapphire 4.074 ct
This sapphire is derived from the mineral corundum and has a blue color. The weight is 4 carats. The stone is approximately 9.6 millimeters long, 8.3 millimeters wide, and 5 millimeters deep.
This blue sapphire shows very small inclusions and excellent color quality.
The transparent sapphire was cut into a faceted antique oval with a modified brilliant top and four facet crowns below.
The note in the certificate "Signs of a thermal treatment" indicates that the stone has undergone a heat treatment. Such treatments are very common and standard in the trade. Heating serves to permanently improve both the color and the clarity of a stone.
