Burma. For ruby connoisseurs, this word is not a geographic detail – it is a statement of quality. The mines of the Mong-Shu have yielded the world's most coveted rubies for centuries. A ruby from Myanmar carries that legacy within it, and this one is a fine example: 1.05 carats of deep, saturated red, with the warm intensity that makes Burmese rubies so unmistakable.
The antique oval cut is an elegant choice for this stone. The softly graduated facets of this classic format work more quietly than a modern brilliant cut – they allow the color to speak rather than dissolving it into movement. At 6.46 × 5.93 × 2.94 mm, the stone sits with a shallow profile that would rest beautifully in a ring setting without overpowering it.
Small inclusions are present – in a natural Burmese ruby, this is not a flaw but a mark of authenticity.
And then there is something that sets this stone apart: no indications of heat treatment. In the ruby market, this is far from the norm. The vast majority of rubies available commercially have been heated to enhance color and clarity. This one has not. It presents itself exactly as nature formed it – and in combination with a verified Burmese origin, that is something genuinely difficult to find.
