Some stones, once seen, are impossible to forget. This Diaspore – also known as Sultanite – weighing 10.10 carats is one of them. What sets it apart is its color change: yellow-green in daylight, brown-violet under artificial light – two entirely different appearances, one and the same stone.
At 15.93 x 11.88 x 6.44 mm, its size allows this color change to unfold fully. More stone means more color – and in an oval of these dimensions, the effect is simply striking. The oval cut is no coincidence: it guides light through the stone in a way that makes the color shift feel even and immersive.
Minute inclusions – barely worth mentioning – and certification from two respected institutions: IGI Antwerp and GLA – Gemmological Laboratory Austria. Diaspore of this size with such clean clarity is not something one comes across every day.
Sultanite is found exclusively in Turkey. Whoever wears this stone carries a piece of geology that has no equivalent anywhere else in the world – and a color change that never stops surprising.
