Some stones don't need a grand stage to make an impression. This 0.59-carat ruby is one of them. Compact in size, but with a red that immediately catches the eye – warm, saturated, and with the characteristic luminosity that has made rubies one of the most revered gemstones throughout history.
At 5.35 x 4.50 x 2.51 mm, it is ideally suited for delicate jewelry, as a solitaire in a slender ring, or as part of a thoughtfully composed combination with other stones. The oval faceted cut flatters the shape and brings out the color evenly – classic without feeling dated.
Very small inclusions are present, as is expected in natural rubies. What stands out is the finding by GLA – Gemmological Laboratory Austria of no indications of thermal treatment. Heat treatment for color enhancement is widespread among rubies – making an untreated stone something worth noting.
Small in weight, strong in presence – a ruby for those who value quality over carats.
