There are different types of gemstone bracelets, which differ mainly in the number of gemstones used in them.
Solitaire bracelets have a single stone. Delicate settings and filigree chains show off even small gemstones to their best advantage on your wrist. Large gemstones also look good in combination with thicker chains.
Solitaire bracelets enhance everyday attire, but can also be used as an accessory to round off a festive outfit for special occasions.
Riviére bracelets consist of many different stones, which are set close together and flexibly. The term “Riviére” is French for “river”. In fact, a Riviére bracelet with a dense setting of diamonds resembles a flowing line of precious stones.
For a Riviére bracelet, colorful gemstones of the same type or gemstones of different types with the same color can be used. For example, you can have a blue Riviére bracelet made with blue sapphire, blue topaz, aquamarine and tanzanite. Or with blue, violet, green, yellow and pink sapphire, a bracelet in all the colors of the rainbow.
It is not easy to find the right stones for a Riviére bracelet – the stones must be cut equally and be approximately the same size. In addition, the value of this bracelet adds up – so for a Riviére made of high-quality gemstones, you have to dig deep into your pockets.
In addition to solitaire and Riviére, there are bracelets with a chain and several gemstone pendants, bracelets and bangles with three equally sized gemstones, or with a large stone flanked by two to four smaller gemstones – to name just a few possible variations.
Bracelet clasps: carabiners, rings and magnets. Bracelets usually have carabiner or ring clasps that can be used to connect the beginning of the chain to one of the end links. This usually gives you some leeway as to whether the bracelet is tight or a little looser.
In addition to these clasps, there are also magnetic bracelet clasps. There is a magnet in the first and last links of the chain. This makes it particularly easy to close the chain with just one hand. However, it could also open accidentally and get lost as a result. Chain types for gemstone bracelets There is a wide selection of different jewelry chains (link to gemstone chains). Anchor chains, in which small oval or round chain links interlock, are particularly common. The links of the anchor chain can be shaped differently. For a solitaire bracelet with small gemstones, anchor chains with small and delicate links are particularly suitable; in combination with large gemstones, anchor chains with large links are also a good choice.
In addition to this classic type of chain, there are various types of curb chains, braided chains or Garibaldi chains. They differ mainly in the way their links are shaped and connected to each other.
Bracelets, on the other hand, are not made of individual chain links, but (similar to a ring) from a single piece of metal.
Silver, gold or platinum? Precious metals for high-quality bracelets. For gemstone bracelets, our goldsmith uses not only high-quality gemstones but also only precious metals, such as silver, gold or platinum, as well as their alloys. Precious metals are particularly valuable due to their rarity.
However, a gemstone bracelet with white, rose or yellow gold, silver or platinum is not only particularly valuable. Precious metals give your bracelet a noble shine and thus also enhance it visually.
How to properly care for and store gemstone bracelets and bangles: To keep your bracelet looking like new for as long as possible, proper storage is important. Always store your bracelet from the IGNEOUS gemstone shop in the original box in which it was delivered. Under no circumstances should you store it in a common bag with other pieces of jewelry set with gemstones. Softer gemstones could be scratched by harder ones.
We recommend that you visit a jeweler or goldsmith to clean your gemstone bracelets. They have the appropriate equipment to gently care for the bracelet and avoid scratches.
