This natural alexandrite is the color-changing variety of the mineral chrysoberyl. The stone has a weight of 3.5 carats. The color is brownish yellow-green in daylight and brown-yellow in artificial light. This gemstone is slightly longer than 1 cm, just over 8 millimetres wide and 5 millimetres deep.this brownish yellow-green/brown-yellow alexandrite has very small inclusions.the transparent colored stone has been cut into a faceted oval. The upper part has been brilliant-cut and the lower part has five facetted rims. This type of cut is also known in the trade as a “Ceylon cut”.
