This sapphire features a blue color. The stone measures slightly over 1.1 cm in length, 9.7 millimeters in width, and 4.7 millimeters in depth, with a weight of 4 carats.
A certificate for this stone has been issued by Lotus Gemology, based in Bangkok, the hub of the colored gemstone trade. The laboratory is led by Richard Hughes, one of the most renowned specialists in corundum and author of the classic “Ruby & Sapphire.” Lotus Gemology has designated this stone as “Pastel”, one of its unique color classifications for rubies and sapphires.
This transparent gemstone exhibits no indications of thermal treatment and contains small inclusions.
With a brilliant crown and three rows of facets on the pavilion, the stone has been cut into a faceted oval shape.
According to the Lotus certificate, the sapphire originates from Myanmar (Burma).
