Paraiba Tourmaline 8.76 ct

Greenish-Light Blue Paraiba Tourmaline

This Paraiba Tourmaline is light blue with turquoise and greenish nuances, which vary depending on the light. It contains only very small inclusions that are not visible to the naked eye, which is quite rare for a Paraiba tourmaline of this size.

Its Cut Enhances Brilliance

The cut of this tourmaline gives it remarkable brilliance. The pavilion (lower part) of the stone is cut in the Portuguese cut, meaning it has many rhombus-shaped facets. The crown (upper part) features two rows of main facets, in addition to table facets (top) and girdle facets (side). This makes it a "double brilliant cut".

Weight & Shape: Ideal for Unique Jewelry Pieces

This Paraiba tourmaline weighs 8.766 carats, which is approximately 1.8 grams. The oval-shaped stone measures about 1.5 cm in length, 1.2 cm in width, and 0.7 cm in depth, making it perfect for use in jewelry.

It can be used for a ring, bracelet, or pendant for a necklace. This Paraiba tourmaline can stand alone as a simple piece of jewelry, but also works beautifully when combined with other colored gemstones or small diamonds. It can be set in platinum, gold, or silver, depending on preference.

Thanks to its light color, this stone pairs wonderfully with colorful outfits for special occasions. Even as an accessory to the little black dress, it stands out and attracts attention, highlighting both the stone and the person wearing it.

Origin: Mozambique

This Paraiba tourmaline comes from Mozambique. The first Paraiba-type tourmalines were found in Paraiba, Brazil. Around 2005, Paraiba tourmalines from Mozambique were introduced to the market.

The Paraiba tourmalines from Mozambique are about 500 million years old and were formed in pegmatites, a type of magmatic rock.
