Gemstone Rings: Highlight the beauty of the stone with artful jewelry design
In the IGNEOUS gemstone shop, you will find only high-quality rings with genuine gemstones. Each of the rings is handmade and unique. In addition to the rings shown here, you can also order rings according to your wishes: Choose a gemstone from our shop and send us detailed information about how you would like the ring to be.
The beauty of the gemstone can be emphasized by an artful setting that is adapted to the characteristics of the gemstone. Whether it's a blue sapphire, green emerald, colorful opal or yellow topaz, you can wear your gemstone in a ring in your everyday life or on special occasions. When a ray of light hits your gemstone, the sparkle on your hands attracts attention.
Solitaire or alliance ring? Find the perfect gemstone ring
A solitaire ring is a ring with a single gemstone. The gemstone is set in such a way that it protrudes slightly above the ring band. Solitaire rings are very popular as engagement rings, for example, but can of course be given as a gift for any other occasion.
Delicate solitaire rings are suitable for delicate women's hands, while wider ones are better suited for men's hands. Eye-clean gemstones or stones with only small inclusions look particularly good on solitaire rings.
Alliance rings, on the other hand, are rings for men or women with several – usually three to five – gemstones. These are arranged in a row next to each other. The gemstones can be the same size or different sizes.
Settings: prong settings and bezel settings in various metals
Depending on the color, size and shape of the gemstone, different types of settings are used for gemstone rings. For example, the prong setting is often used for light-colored, particularly pure diamonds, aquamarines, rubies or peridots. You can imagine the prongs as metal claws that hold the gemstone.
This means that the stone is only minimally covered by the metal, allowing the light to reflect in it and thus accentuate the beauty of the gemstone.
For colored or opaque stones (e.g. opal or sapphire), bezel settings are usually used. The bezel setting, also known as a blurred setting, encompasses the gemstone like a frame encompasses a picture. In doing so, it very slightly overlaps the edge of the gemstone.
On the one hand, the gemstone is well protected, and on the other hand, you do not run the risk of getting caught on stockings or other items of clothing with a ring with a bezel setting.
Silver, gold or platinum – the metal used for your gemstone rings can increase their value
The value – and beauty – of your ring is determined, on the one hand, by the gemstone and the design of the piece of jewelry. The more valuable the stone, the more creative and elaborate the design, the more expensive the ring.
On the other hand, the type of metal also contributes to the value of a ring. In the IGNEOUS Edelstein shop, you will find rings in yellow gold and white gold. If you wish, we can also make a ring for you out of other materials, such as platinum or titanium.
Measuring & changing the ring size
It is possible to change the ring size afterwards for some rings – but it is very difficult for all of them. Therefore, we recommend that you carefully measure the ring size in advance.
The paper method, for example, is suitable for this. You will need a narrow strip of paper and a pen.
- Wrap the paper strip tightly around your ring finger (or around the finger on which you will wear the ring).
- Mark the point where the paper strip overlaps with a pen.
- Now measure the length of the marked area with a ruler.
- The circumference (in millimeters) corresponds approximately to the ring size.
If you already wear a ring that fits you well, you can also use the paper method on this. Take the ring off and roll the paper in it. Mark the paper strip at the overlap. Measure the circumference with a ruler and this time add another millimeter.
Attention: Your finger size can change due to external influences. Cold, heat or weight gain and loss are just a few examples.

How to properly care for and store gemstone rings
If you clean your gemstone rings by hand, you should proceed very carefully and gently clean them with a soft cloth. If you want a thorough cleaning, we recommend that you visit a jeweler or goldsmith.
To keep your rings looking as good as new for as long as possible, it is important to store them correctly. Always store your ring from the IGNEOUS gemstone shop in the original box in which it was delivered. Under no circumstances should you store several pieces of jewelry with gemstones in the same bag. The jewelry could rub against each other and softer gemstones could be scratched by harder ones.
