This sapphire features a blue color and weighs 4.2 carats. The stone measures slightly over 1 cm in length, 8 millimeters in width, and 5 millimeters in depth.
A certificate for this stone has been issued by Lotus Gemology, based in Bangkok, the hub of the colored gemstone trade. The laboratory is led by Richard Hughes, one of the most renowned specialists in corundum and author of the classic “Ruby & Sapphire.” Lotus Gemology has classified this stone as “Pastel”, one of their unique color types for rubies and sapphires.
This gemstone exhibits small inclusions and shows no indications of thermal treatment.
The blue transparent gemstone has been cut into a faceted oval shape, with a brilliant crown and four rows of facets on the pavilion.
The Lotus certificate confirms that the sapphire originates from Myanmar (Burma).
